Sunday, March 29
As stewards of God’s words and works, it is with delight that we have the opportunity to gather as His people in worship by way of a reminder of the truth, power, and goodness of the sacred Scriptures. May we gather in His name and for His glory as we endeavor to make much of Christ through scripture, prayer, song, and the preaching of His Word. We look forward to gathering together this Lord’s day – For Christ, to God’s Glory, and Man’s Joy!

This Sunday’s Sermon
Shadow of the Son | Genesis 37-50 | Manny Pereira
Jesus tells us that the Scriptures are supremely about Him (Luke 24:27). Even Genesis contains “but a shadow of the good things to come” (Hebrews 10:1). Is there more than a heroic character study in the story of Joseph? More than a model of morals? More still than a lesson on God’s sovereignty? Joesph is a special son whose situation, suffering, and service anticipate Christ in striking ways. The story of Joseph is not ultimately about Joseph. He and his remarkable history is but a marvelous shadow of the Son.

Today’s Song Lyrics
Rejoice, the Lord Is King
Verse 1
Rejoice, the Lord is King!
Your Lord and King adore.
Rejoice, give thanks, and sing
And triumph evermore.
Lift up your heart!
Lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!
Verse 2
Our Savior, Jesus, reigns,
The God of truth and love;
When He had purged our stains,
He took His seat above:
Lift up your heart!
Lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!
Verse 3
His kingdom cannot fail,
He rules o’er earth and heav’n;
The keys of death and hell
Are to our Jesus giv’n:
Lift up your heart!
Lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!
Verse 4
Rejoice in glorious hope,
For Christ the Judge shall come
To gather all His saints
To their eternal home:
Lift up your heart!
Lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

Our Great God
Verse 1
Eternal God, unchanging,
Mysterious and unknown;
Your boundless love, unfailing,
In grace and mercy shown.
Bright seraphim in ceaseless flight
Around Your glorious throne;
They raise their voices day and night
In praise to You alone.
(Chorus)
Hallelujah!
Glory be to our great God!
Hallelujah!
Glory be to our great God!
Verse 2
Lord, we are weak and frail,
Helpless in the storm.
Surround us with Your angels,
And hold us in Your arms.
Our cold and ruthless enemy,
His pleasure is our harm.
Rise up, O Lord, and he will flee
Before our sovereign God.
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse 3
Let every creature in the sea
And every flying bird,
Let every mountain, every field
And valley of the earth;
Let all the moons and all the stars
In all the universe
Sing praises to the living God
Who rules them by His Word.
(Repeat Chorus)

Christ, the True and Better
Verse 1
Christ, the true and better Adam,
Son of God and Son of man;
Who, when tempted in the garden
Never yielded, never sinned.
He, Who makes the many righteous,
Brings us back to life again.
Dying, He reversed the curse; then,
Rising crushed the serpent’s head.
Verse 2
Christ, the true and better Isaac,
Humble Son of sacrifice;
Who would climb the fearful mountain,
There to offer up His life.
Laid with faith upon the altar;
Father’s joy and only Son.
There salvation was provided;
Oh, what full and boundless love!
(Chorus)
Amen, amen from beginning to end.
Christ, the story, His, the glory.
Alleluia, amen.
Verse 3
Christ, the true and better Moses,
Called to lead a people home;
Standing bold to earthly powers,
God’s great glory to be known.
With His arms stretched wide to heaven,
See the waters part in two.
See the veil was torn forever;
Cleansed with blood we pass now through.
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse 4
Christ, the true and better David;
Lowly Shepherd, mighty King.
He, the champion in the battle;
Where O death, is now thy sting?
In our place He bled and conquered;
Crown Him Lord of Majesty.
He shall be the throne forever.
We shall e’re His people be.
(Repeat Chorus)

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
How deep the Father’s love for us?
How vast beyond all measure?
That He should give His only Son,
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory.
Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders.
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there,
Until it was accomplished,
His dying breath has brought me life,
I know that it is finished.
I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom.
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer.
But this I know with all my heart,
His wounds have paid my ransom.

Whate’er My God Ordains Is Right
Verse1
Whate’er my God ordains is right,
His holy will abideth;
I will be still whate’er He does,
And follow where He guideth.
He is my God, though dark my road;
He holds me that I shall not fall;
And so to Him I leave it all,
And so to Him I leave it all.
Verse 2
Whate’er my God ordains is right,
He never will deceive me;
He leads me by the proper path,
I know He will not leave me.
I take, content, what He has sent;
His hand can turn my griefs away;
And patiently I wait His day,
And patiently I wait His day.
Verse 3
Whate’er my God ordains is right,
Though now this cup in drinking
May bitter seem to my faint heart,
I take it all, unshrinking.
My God is true, each morn anew
Sweet comfort yet shall fill my heart;
And pain and sorrow shall depart,
And pain and sorrow shall depart.
Verse 4
Whate’er my God ordains is right,
Here shall my stand be taken;
Though sorrow, need, or death be mine,
Yet I am not forsaken.
My Father’s care is 'round me there;
He holds me that I shall not fall;
And so to Him I leave it all,
And so to Him I leave it all.

Crown Him with Many Crowns
Verse 1
Crown Him with many crowns,
The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark, how the heavenly anthem drowns
All music but its own!
Awake my soul, and sing
Of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King
Through all eternity.
Verse 2
Crown Him the Son of God,
Before the worlds began,
And ye who tread where He hath trod,
Crown Him the Son of Man.
Who every grief hath known
That wrings the human breast,
And takes and bears them for His own,
That all in Him may rest.
Verse 3
Crown Him the Lord of life,
Who triumphed o’er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save.
His glories now we sing,
Who died and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring,
And lives that death may die.
Verse 4
Crown Him the Lord of heav’n,
Enthroned in worlds above;
Crown Him, the King to whom is giv’n
The wondrous name of Love.
Crown Him with many crowns,
As thrones before Him fall;
Crown Him, ye kings with many crowns,
For He is King of all.
