Sunday, March 22
As stewards of God’s words and works, it is with delight that we have the opportunity to gather as His people in worship by way of a reminder of the truth, power, and goodness of the sacred Scriptures. May we gather in His name and for His glory as we endeavor to make much of Christ through scripture, prayer, song, and the preaching of His Word. We look forward to gathering together this Lord’s day – For Christ, to God’s Glory, and Man’s Joy!

This Sunday’s Sermon
Realizing the New Covenant | Acts 9:32-43 | Manny Pereira
Saul’s stirring conversion and compelled witness is put on hold, and attention is redirected purposefully to Peter. Apostolic witness in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria has now been realized. But the church is not yet ready to advance to the end of the earth. A new lesson must be learned, starting with Peter. Before the church could step into and truly embrace being a witness to the world, the wall of separation between Jews and Gentiles had to be broken down. The international scope of the New Covenant had to be realized in the church, beginning with the apostles in Jerusalem. Christ is truly Lord of all nations and Savior of the world, and this had to be brought home in the church before she could go global.
What We Believe
Excerpt from the Heidelberg Catechism - Question 1 (1563)
Q1. What is your only comfort in life and in death?
A. That I am not my own, but belong— body and soul, in life and in death— to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has delivered me from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven; in fact, all things must work together for my salvation. Because I belong to Him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, also assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live unto him.

Today’s Song Lyrics
Come, Thou Almighty King
Verse 1
Come, Thou Almighty King.
Help us Thy name to sing.
Help us to praise.
Father, all glorious, o’er all victorious,
Come, and reign over us, Ancient of Days.
Verse 2
Come, Thou incarnate Word,
Gird on Thy mighty sword.
Our prayer attend:
Come, and Thy people bless,
And give Thy word success;
Spirit of holiness, on us descend.
(Chorus)
All glory be to the Father,
All glory be to the Son,
All glory be to the Spirit,
The Blessed Three in One.
Verse 3
Come, Holy Comforter,
Thy sacred witness bear.
In this glad hour:
Thou who Almighty art,
Now rule in every heart
And ne’er from us depart,
Spirit of power.
Verse 4
To Thee, great One in Three,
Eternal praises be
Hence evermore.
Thy sovereign majesty
May we in glory see,
And to eternity love and adore.

Only A Holy God
Verse 1
Who else commands all the hosts of heaven?
Who else could make every king bow down?
Who else can whisper and darkness trembles?
Only a Holy God
Verse 2
What other beauty demands such praises?
What other splendor outshines the sun?
What other majesty rules with justice?
Only a Holy God
(Chorus)
Come and behold Him,
The One and the Only.
Cry out, sing holy,
Forever a Holy God;
Come and worship the Holy God.
Verse 3
What other glory consumes like fire?
What other power can raise the dead?
What other name remains undefeated?
Only a Holy God.
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse 4
Who else could rescue me from my failing?
Who else could offer His only Son?
Who else invites me to call Him Father?
Only a Holy God.
Only my Holy God!
(Repeat Chorus)

Here Is Love Vast As the Ocean (Everlasting Praise)
Verse 1
Here is love, vast as the ocean,
Loving-kindness as the flood.
When the Prince of Life, our ransom,
Shed for us His precious blood.
Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He can never be forgotten
Throughout heavn’s eternal days.
Verse 2
On the Mount of crucifixion,
Fountains opened deep and wide.
Through the floodgates of God’s mercy,
Flowed a vast and gracious tide.
Grace and love like mighty rivers
Poured incessant from above.
Heaven’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love.
Verse 3
On the morn of resurrection,
Mercy filled the thirsty grave
Where the stone of death burst open,
Springs of life flowed unrestrained.
Love no heart could ever measure,
Joy no sorrows will outrun
Rush upon the soul believing
In the risen, reigning Son.
Verse 4
Oh this love, vast love of Jesus,
Bids us come and drink and live.
To this weary world of longing,
What more could our Savior give?
Now to Christ who fully loved us
And who freed us from our sin,
Be all glory and dominion,
Everlasting praise to Him.

Jesus, Your Mercy
Verse 1
Jesus, Your mercy is all my plea.
I have no defense, my guilt runs too deep.
The best of my works pierced Your hands and Your feet.
Jesus, Your mercy is all my plea.
Verse 2
Jesus, Your mercy is all my boast,
The goodness I claim, the grounds of my hope.
Whatever I lack it’s still what I need most.
Jesus, Your mercy is all my boast.
(Chorus)
Praise the King who bore my sin,
Took my place when I stood condemned.
Oh how good You’ve always been to me.
I will sing of Your mercy.
Verse 3
Jesus, Your mercy is all my rest,
When fears weigh me down and enemies press.
A comfort I cling to in life and in death.
Jesus, Your mercy is all my rest.
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse 4
Jesus, Your mercy is all my joy.
Forever I’ll lift my heart and my voice,
To sing of a treasure no power can destroy.
Jesus, Your mercy is all my joy.
(Repeat Chorus)

Christ Our Hope In Life and Death
Verse 1
What is our hope in life and death?
Christ alone, Christ alone.
What is our only confidence?
That our souls to Him belong.
Who holds our days within His hand?
What comes, apart from His command?
And what will keep us to the end?
The love of Christ, in which we stand.
(Chorus)
O sing hallelujah!
Our hope springs eternal;
O sing hallelujah!
Now and ever we confess
Christ our hope in life and death.
Verse 2
What truth can calm the troubled soul?
God is good, God is good.
Where is His grace and goodness known?
In our great Redeemer’s blood.
Who holds our faith when fears arise?
Who stands above the stormy trial?
Who sends the waves that bring us nigh
Unto the shore, the rock of Christ?
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse 3
Unto the grave, what shall we sing?
“Christ, He lives; Christ, He lives!”
And what reward will heaven bring?
Everlasting life with Him.
There we will rise to meet the Lord,
Then sin and death will be destroyed,
And we will feast in endless joy,
When Christ is ours forevermore.
(Repeat Chorus)

There Is One Gospel
Verse 1
There is one Gospel on which I stand
For all eternity
It is my story, my Father’s plan
The Son has rescued me
Oh what a Gospel, Oh what a peace
My highest joy and my deepest need
Now and forever He is my light
I stand in the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Verse 2
There is one Gospel to which I cling
All else I count as loss
For there, where justice and mercy meet
He saved me on the cross
No more I boast in what I can bring
No more I carry the weight of sin
For He has brought me from death to life
I stand in the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Verse 3
There is one Gospel where hope is found
The empty tomb still speaks
For death could not keep my Savior down
He lives and I am free
Now on my Savior, I fix my eyes
My life is His and His hope is mine!
For He has promised I, too will rise
I stand in the Gospel of Jesus Christ
Verse 4
And in this Gospel the church is one
We do not walk alone
We have His Spirit as we press on
To lead us safely home
And when in glory still I will sing
Of this old story that rescued me
Praise to my Savior, the King of life
I stand in the Gospel of Jesus Christ
