Sunday, April 5
This week - Resurrection Sunday! As stewards of God’s words and works, it is with delight that we have the opportunity to gather as His people in worship by way of a reminder of the truth, power, and goodness of the sacred Scriptures. May we gather in His name and for His glory as we endeavor to make much of the resurrected Christ through scripture, prayer, song, and the preaching of His Word. We look forward to gathering together this Lord’s day – For Christ, to God’s Glory, and Man’s Joy!

This Sunday’s Sermon
Vital Vision | 2 Corinthians 4:13-18 | Manny Pereira
Sight is a significant metaphor. It directly relates to faith in paradoxical patterns. It has both physical and spiritual dimensions. Yet rarely is this metaphor considered in the light of Christ’s resurrection. Ironically, vision is a distinct means of Christian hope. In this sermon, the special relationship between Christ’s resurrection and vision is considered. He is risen! Those in Christ not only see His glory in the resurrection but by it see everything else. The resurrection of Jesus Christ establishes the Christian’s vision of life. It has to do with final victory and vitality forever.

Today’s Song Lyrics
Rise My Soul, The Lord Is Risen
Verse 1
Rise, my soul, the Lord is risen.
Come behold the empty grave.
See the place where darkness laid Him.
Sing, for only hope remains.
Hallelujah, praise forever!
Death defeated and life restored.
By that great immortal power,
Christ is risen! Arise my soul!
Verse 2
Rest, my soul, the Lord is risen.
Love’s redeeming work is done.
Now the Father sees His children
As He sees His sinless Son.
Oh the wonder, oh the glory,
That same favor is now my own.
Shame behind me, grace before me.
Christ is risen, arise my soul!
(Chorus)
Arise my soul, arise my soul!
Arise my soul, arise my soul!
Verse 3
Peace my soul, the Lord is risen,
Come and have your hope renewed.
For this trial is brief and fleeting.
Tears will turn to glory soon.
Shout with joy and sound the triumph,
Let the music of heaven roar.
Let the boast of death be silent.
Christ is risen, arise my soul!
Verse 4
Arise, my soul, for I am risen,
Seated now with Christ, my Lord.
As my life belongs to heaven,
Fear shall hold its sway no more.
Onward, upward, toward the treasure,
Filled with courage and endless hope,
For this truth is mine forever.
Christ is risen, arise my soul!
For this truth is mine forever.
Christ is risen, arise my soul!
(Chorus)
Arise my soul, arise my soul!
Arise my soul, arise my soul!

Behold Our God
Verse 1
Who has held the oceans in His hands?
Who has numbered every grain of sand?
Kings and nations tremble at His voice.
All creation rises to rejoice.
(Chorus)
Behold our God, seated on His throne.
Come, let us adore Him.
Behold our King, nothing can compare,
Come, let us adore Him!
Verse 2
Who has given counsel to the Lord?
Who can question any of His words?
Who can teach the One who knows all things?
Who can fathom all His wondrous deeds?
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse 3
Who has felt the nails upon His hands,
Bearing all the guilt of sinful man?
God eternal, humbled to the grave,
Jesus, Savior, risen now to reign!
(Repeat Chorus)
You will reign forever.
(Let Your glory fill the earth)

Christ Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed
How can it be, the One who died
Has borne our sin through sacrifice,
To conquer every sting of death?
Sing, sing hallelujah!
For joy awakes as dawning light,
When Christ's disciples lift their eyes,
Alive He stands, their Friend and King!
Christ, Christ He is risen.
(Chorus)
Christ is risen,
He is risen indeed!
Oh, sing hallelujah.
Join the chorus,
sing with the redeemed,
"Christ is risen,
He is risen indeed."
Where doubt and darkness once had been,
They saw Him and their hearts believed,
But blessed are those who have not seen,
Yet, sing "Hallelujah!"
Once bound by fear now bold in faith,
They preach the truth and power of grace.
In pouring out their lives they gave life,
Life everlasting.
(Repeat Chorus)
The power that raised Him from the grave
Now works in us to powerfully save.
He frees our hearts to live His grace.
Go, tell of His goodness!
(Repeat Chorus)

He's alive, He's alive,
Heaven's gates are open wide!
He's alive, He's alive,
Now in Heaven glorified.

It Was Finished Upon That Cross
Verse 1
How I love the voice of Jesus
On the cross of Calvary.
He declares His work is finished,
He has spoken this hope to me.
Though the sun had ceased its shining,
Though the war appeared as lost.
Christ has triumphed over evil,
It was finished upon that Cross.
Verse 2
Now the curse, it has been broken,
Jesus paid the price for me.
Full, the pardon He has offered.
Great, the welcome that I receive.
Boldly I approach my Father,
Clothed in Jesus’ righteousness.
There is no more guilt to carry,
It was finished upon that Cross.
Verse 3
Death was once my great opponent,
Fear once had a hold on me.
But the Son who died to save us
Rose that we would be free indeed!
Death was once my great opponent,
Fear once had a hold on me.
But the Son who died to save us
Rose that we would be free indeed!
Yes, He rose that we would be free indeed!
(Tag)
Free from ev’ry plan of darkness,
Free to live and free to love.
Death is dead and Christ is risen,
It was finished upon that Cross.
Onward to eternal glory,
To my Savior and my God.
I rejoice in Jesus’ victory,
It was finished upon that Cross.
It was finished upon that Cross.
It was finished upon that Cross.

Be Thou My Vision
Verse 1
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that thou art
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Verse 2
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father and I Thy true son,
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Verse 3
Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Armor, and be Thou my Light,
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.
Verse 4
Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance, now and always;
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
Verse 5
High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
