Sunday, April 12

As stewards of God’s words and works, it is with delight that we have the opportunity to gather as His people in worship by way of a reminder of the truth, power, and goodness of the sacred Scriptures. May we gather in His name and for His glory as we endeavor to make much of Christ through scripture, prayer, song, and the preaching of His Word. We look forward to gathering together this Lord’s day – For Christ, to God’s Glory, and Man’s Joy!

This Sunday’s Sermon

Aiming for the Gold Medal Finish | Hebrews 12:1-3 | Premend Choy

The race of faith set before every Christian is difficult because it is an endurance marathon rather than a short sprint. The writer of Hebrews urges you to run your specific lane by considering the legacy of those who went before, staying alert to avoid pitfalls, and following Jesus’ ultimate example of perseverance. Locking our gaze on Jesus is the golden key to a gold medal finish!

Give to Our God Immortal Praise

Verse 1

Give to our God immortal praise;

Mercy and truth are all His ways;

Wonders of grace to God belong;

Repeat His mercies in your song.

Verse 2

He built the earth, He spread the sky,

And fixed the starry lights on high;

Wonders of grace to God belong;

Repeat His mercies in your song.

Verse 3

He fills the sun with morning light;

He bids the moon direct the night;

His mercies ever shall endure,

When suns and moons shall shine no more.

Verse 4

He sent His Son with power to save

From guilt and darkness and the grave;

Wonders of grace to God belong;

Repeat His mercies in your song.

Verse 5

Through this vain world He guides our feet,

And leads us to His heavenly seat:

His mercies ever shall endure,

When this our world shall be no more.

Sanctus (Holy, Holy, Holy)

Verse 1

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord;

Holy, holy, holy, creation bows before You.

Worthy, worthy, worthy is the Lamb who was slain

To receive the highest praise.

(Chorus)

Name above all other names,

King above all other kings.

All of Heaven cries,

“The Lord Almighty reigns forevermore!”

Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing

Verse 1

Come, thou Fount of every blessing;

Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;

Streams of mercy, never ceasing,

Call for songs of loudest praise.

Teach me some melodious sonnet,

Sung by flaming tongues above;

Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,

Mount of Thy redeeming love.

Verse 2

Hither to Thy love hath blessed me;

Thou hast brought me to this place;

And I know Thy hand will lead me

Safely home by Thy good grace.

Jesus sought me when a stranger

Wandering from the fold of God.

He, to rescue me from danger,

Interposed His precious blood.

Verse 3

Oh, to grace how great a debtor

Daily I’m constrained to be!

Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,

Bind my wandring heart to Thee.

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,

Prone to leave the God I love;

Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it,

Seal it for Thy courts above!

Verse 4

Oh, that day when, freed from sinning,

I shall see Thy lovely face;

Full arrayed in blood-washed linen,

How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace!

Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,

Bring Thy promises to pass;

For I know Thy power will keep me

Till I’m home with Thee at last!

But for the Cross of Christ

Verse 1

What is the truth

That ever anchors me

Amidst the waves of all my guilt?

That Christ has shed

His blood and pardoned me

At the cross, at the cross.

Verse 2

He bore my sin;

I bear His righteousness.

Oh, what a glorious exchange.

The wrath of God

Laid on the spotless Lamb,

Oh what grace, Oh what grace.

(Chorus)

Behold the cross,

There is no greater love.

Heaven’s Son

Laid down His life for us.

Oh, my soul would be lost

With no hope to find,

But for the cross of Christ.

Verse 3

How do I walk

With humble confidence?

I look to Christ Who is my peace.

He sealed my hope

And my inheritance

At the cross, at the cross.

Verse 4

When I am weak

And stumble into sin,

There is an everflowing stream.

His cleansing blood

Revives my soul again;

Oh what grace, oh what grace.

(Repeat Chorus)

Verse 5

One day I’ll stand

Before the King of Kings;

One day I’ll see Him face to face.

For Jesus rose;

Death lost its bitter sting.

Christ has won, Christ has won!

(Repeat Chorus)

May the Mind of Christ My Savior

Verse 1

May the mind of Christ, my Savior,

Live in me from day to day,

By His love and pow’r controlling

All I do and say.

All I do and say,

All I do and say;

By His love and pow’r controlling

All I do and say.

Verse 2

May the Word of God dwell richly

In my heart from hour to hour,

So that all may see I triumph

Only through His pow’r.

Only through His pow’r,

Only through His pow’r;

So that all may see I triumph

Only through His pow’r.

Verse 3

May the love of Jesus fill me

As the waters fill the sea;

Him exalting, self abasing:

This is victory.

This is victory,

This is victory;

Him exalting, self abasing:

This is victory.

Verse 4

May His beauty rest upon me

As I seek the lost to win,

And may they forget the channel,

Seeing only Him.

Seeing only Him,

Seeing only Him;

And may they forget the channel,

Seeing only Him.

Verse 5

May I run the race before me,

Strong and brave to face the foe,

Looking only unto Jesus

As I onward go.

As I onward go,

As I onward go;

Looking only unto Jesus

As I onward go.

Yet Not I, But Through Christ In Me

Verse 1

What gift of grace is Jesus, my Redeemer;

There is no more for heaven now to give.

He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom,

My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace.

To this I hold: my hope is only Jesus,

For my life is wholly bound to His.

Oh, how strange and divine,

I can sing: all is mine!

Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

Verse 2

The night is dark, but I am not forsaken,

For by my side, the Savior, He will stay.

I labor on in weakness and rejoicing,

For in my need His power is displayed.

To this I hold: my Shepherd will defend me;

Through the deepest valley He will lead.

Oh the night has been won,

And I shall overcome!

Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

Verse 3

No fate I dread; I know I am forgiven;

The future sure, the price, it has been paid.

For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon,

And He was raised to overthrow the grave.

To this I hold: my sin has been defeated;

Jesus now and ever is my plea.

Oh, the chains are released,

I can sing: I am free!

Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

Verse 4

With every breath I long to follow Jesus,

For He has said that He will bring me home.

And day by day I know He will renew me

Until I stand with joy before the throne.

To this I hold: my hope is only Jesus;

All the glory evermore to Him.

When the race is complete,

Still my lips shall repeat:

Yet not I, but through Christ in me.
