Tremendous expectancy has set this scene. For the first time, the apostle Peter preaches to a non-Jewish audience. His sermon is brief, but wonderfully full. Peter does not merely celebrate God’s inclusion of Gentiles in the New Covenant. He preaches Christ. Surprisingly, his emphasis is on the lordship of Christ, not grace. Nevertheless, the gospel is here preached. Christ is the rightful Lord of all. Because the glory of His person extends over all nations, so too does the glory of His work.
