From Light to Glory

From Light to Glory | 2 Corinthians 4:6–18 | Noe Legaspi

Paul writes that the God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Yet this treasure is placed in fragile vessels, so that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. Through affliction, suffering, and every trial, the believer is not abandoned but continually sustained and inwardly renewed by God’s power. Even what is experienced as deep affliction and weakness is being used by God to accomplish His purposes and to reveal the life of Christ within us. These present trials are not meaningless but are preparing an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison. Therefore, we do not lose heart, for the life of the believer is held, carried, and brought to completion by the sustaining power of God from beginning to end. In the end, all will culminate in the full and eternal unveiling of God’s glory, when what is now seen only in part will be revealed in its complete and everlasting fullness.
