Sunday, September 6
As stewards of God’s words and works, it is with delight that we have the opportunity to gather as His people in worship by way of a reminder of the truth, power, and goodness of the sacred Scriptures. May we gather in His name and for His glory as we endeavor to make much of Christ through scripture, prayer, song, and the preaching of His Word. We look forward to gathering together this Lord’s day – For Christ, to God’s Glory, and Man’s Joy!

This Sunday’s Sermon
Overcoming the Dark | Acts 14:8-20 | Manny Pereira
The light of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ shines forth to penetrate the dark and overcome it in grace and truth. This is the first scene in Acts where the light of the gospel shines forth into a completely pagan setting—no synagogue, no Scripture, no God-fearers. Yet the powers of darkness cannot extinguish the light of Christ. His restoring power reaches into the ruin of the fall, His truth exposes false worship, and His grace sustains His witnesses when faithfulness results in affliction. Christ is the light to the nations, and He is worth trusting, worth turning toward, and worth suffering for, come what may. The darkness is formidable. The glory of the gospel is greater.
The Lord’s Table
Communion Sunday
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that the two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41; 8:38-39; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32). All who are in Christ are invited to the table today.

Today’s Song Lyrics
Praise the Lord (Psalm 150)
Verse 1
You made the starry host;
You traced the mountain peaks.
You paint the evening skies with wonders.
The earth, it is Your throne
From desert to the sea.
All nature testifies Your splendor.
(Chorus)
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord;
Sing His greatness all creation.
Praise the Lord, raise your voice,
You heights and all you depths
From furthest east to west.
Let everything that has breath
Praise the Lord.
Verse 2
You reached into the dust;
With love Your Spirit breathed.
You formed us in Your very likeness.
To know Your wondrous works,
To tell Your mighty deeds,
To join the everlasting chorus.
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse 3
Let symphonies resound;
Let drums and choirs ring out.
All heaven hear the sound of worship.
Let every nation bring
Its honors to the King:
A roar of harmonies, eternal.
(Chorus 2)
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord;
Sing His greatness all creation.
Praise the Lord, raise your voice,
You heights and all you depths
From furthest east to west.
You distant burning stars,
All creatures near and far,
From sky to sea to shore,
Sing out forevermore.
Let everything that has breath
Praise the Lord.

How Great (Psalm 145)
Verse 1
I’ll bless Your name, O God, each day that I awake
From dawn to setting sun, Your greatness I’ll proclaim
Your glory far exceeds all human thought
So with each breath I’ll bless Your name, O God
Verse 2
Your name will be revered by children yet to come
As generations sing of wonders You have done
Your strong and mighty deeds are always near
O God Most High, Your name will be revered
(Chorus)
How great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!
How great is the Lord our God
How great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!
Verse 3
Your gracious hand provides for all who live and breathe
Your mercy runs to find the helpless and the weak
When we call out to You, You hear our cries
And all our needs Your gracious hand provides
Verse 4
Forever without end, creation will rejoice
When works of wicked men, You finally destroy
Your power we’ll proclaim till Christ descends
And You will reign forever without end

His Glory and My Good
Verse 1
I have seen my Father’s glory
Revealed in Jesus Christ
And the more that I behold Him,
The more He satisfies.
When I gaze upon His beauty,
When I see Him as I should
Then my eyes are lifted upward
For His glory and my good.
Verse 2
There is hope in every trial
For I can trust the Lord.
He will turn my heart towards Him
And help me bare the thorn.
So in faith I follow Jesus
On the road not understood.
For I know that He is working
For His glory and my good.
(Chorus)
To our God be the glory,
To our God be praise.
He alone, the name above all names.
I will boast ever only
In the Lord my God, for I know
His glory is my good.
Verse 3
See the open arms of Jesus
Upon the cross that day.
What they understood as weakness
Deserves my every praise.
For the charge that was against me,
It was nailed into the wood.
Yes, I know that He has saved me
For His glory and my good.
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse 4
Would I gladly be made nothing
That Christ would be made more.
Would I seek the only kingdom
That far outweighs them all.
I will stand before my Father
Where the faithful saints have stood
And with Joy my heart shall praise Him
For His glory and my good.
(Repeat Chorus)

We Are Thankful
Verse 1
For goodness and for mercy that has surely followed us
And every blessing we could never earn
For all the gifts we cherish that are pictures of Your love
What could we ever offer in return?
Chorus
Thank You, thank You, Father, thank You
You are always good
Thank You, thank You, Father, thank You
You are always faithful and we are thankful
Verse 2
For sorrows and for trials that You send to shape our hearts
And pain that keeps us clinging to Your grace
For faith within the fire or Your presence in the dark
What can we sing no matter what we face?
Verse 3
For pardon and forgiveness through our Savior’s sacrifice
And death that’s swallowed up in victory
For love that’s never failed us and Your everlasting life
What will we say for all eternity?

All Glory Be to Christ
Verse 1
Should nothing of our efforts stand,
No legacy survive
Unless the Lord does raise the house,
In vain its builders strive.
To you who boast tomorrow's gain,
Tell me what is your life?
A mist that vanishes at dawn,
All glory be to Christ!
(Chorus)
All glory be to Christ our King!
All glory be to Christ!
His rule and reign we'll ever sing,
All glory be to Christ!
Verse 2
His will be done, His kingdom come,
On earth as is above
Who is Himself our daily bread,
Praise Him the Lord of love.
Let living water satisfy
The thirsty without price
We'll take a cup of kindness yet,
All glory be to Christ!
(Repeat Chorus)
Verse 3
When on the day the great I Am,
The faithful and the true
The Lamb who was for sinners slain,
Is making all things new.
Behold our God shall live with us
And be our steadfast light
And we shall e're His people be,
All glory be to Christ!
(Repeat Chorus)
