Sunday, July 19

As stewards of God’s words and works, it is with delight that we have the opportunity to gather as His people in worship by way of a reminder of the truth, power, and goodness of the sacred Scriptures. May we gather in His name and for His glory as we endeavor to make much of Christ through scripture, prayer, song, and the preaching of His Word. We look forward to gathering together this Lord’s day – For Christ, to God’s Glory, and Man’s Joy!

This Sunday’s Sermon

The Church Christ Builds | Acts 13:1-12 | Manny Pereira

This passage opens the first great missionary movement in the history of the church. But it is not merely the record of the beginning of missions. It is a theological display of the risen Christ building His church, tacitly showing how He does it. Multiplication of worshiping, Word-shaped, and Spirit-directed local congregations is more to the point. The church that Christ builds is first realized in local fellowships that conform to His will, maintaining His priorities and appointed means, however unsuspecting they may appear. And when she is met with opposition, as featured in this passage, she does not see it as defeat but rather the theater in which Christ prevails in and through her. The church Christ builds prevails.

Today’s Song Lyrics

All My Boast Is In Jesus

Verse 1

What wonder of wonders, what love is this;

That Christ would die for me!

His goodness, His merit, His righteousness,

This sinner’s only plea.

O foolish pride, be crucified;

The work is finished!

(Chorus)

All my boast is in Jesus;

All my hope is His love

And I will glory forever

In what the Cross has done.

Verse 2

Now fully forgiven, my life is filled

With graces undeserved.

For mercy that flowed down that sacred hill,

Let praises now return.

Rise up, my soul, and bless the Lord!

Who else is worthy?

(Repeat Chorus)

(Bridge 1)

O, praise the One, forever blessed!

Him alone my heart adores.

And I will boast in nothing less

Than the love of Christ, my Lord.

(Bridge 2)

O, praise the One, forever blessed!

Him alone my heart adores.

Oh, I will boast in nothing less

Than the love of Christ, my Lord.

Verse 3

I boast not in riches, in strength, or might,

But in the grace of God.

I glory in weakness, to live is Christ

In plenty or in want.

That I may know, that all may see

His pow’r within me!

(Chorus)

All my boast is in Jesus;

All my hope is His love

And I will glory forever

In what the Cross has done.

(Chorus 2)

Now I stand in this freedom;

Ransomed, clean in His sight,

Oh, and I cannot be ashamed for

My boast is Jesus Christ

My boast is Jesus Christ

Forever, my boast is Jesus Christ

All Creatures of Our God and King

Verse 1

All creatures of our God and King

Lift up your voice and with us sing

O praise Him! Alleluia!

Thou, burning sun with golden beam

Thou, silver moon with softer gleam

O praise Him! O praise Him!

Alleluia! Alleluia!

Alleluia!

Verse 2

Let all things their Creator bless

And worship Him in humbleness

O praise Him! Alleluia!

Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son

And praise the Spirit, Three in One!

O praise Him! O praise Him!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Verse 3

All the redeemed washed by His blood

Come and rejoice in His great love

O praise Him! Alleluia!

Christ has defeated every sin

Cast all your burdens now on Him

O praise Him! O praise Him!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Verse 4

He shall return in power to reign

Heaven and earth will join to say

O praise Him! Alleluia!

Then who shall fall on bended knee?

All creatures of our God and King

O praise Him! O praise Him!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Opt. Tag:

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,

The God whom heav'n and earth adore,

From earth and from the angel host,

Be praise and glory evermore.

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Blessed Be Our God and Father

Verse 1

Blessed be our God and Father

Who has filled our lives with blessing:

Every gift from heaven’s fullness

Now is ours in Jesus Christ.

Oh, what riches of his favor

Poured out freely from His throne!

We rejoice in praise

For the glory of His grace.

Verse 2

Blessed be our God and Father

Who before the world’s foundation

Knew He’d make us pure and blameless,

Changing sinners into saints.

Oh, what mercy to be chosen

And in love to bear His name!

We rejoice in praise

For the glory of His grace.

(Chorus 1)

Hallelujah! to Your name be all the glory!

Hallelujah! to Your name be all praise!

Verse 3

Blessed be our God and Father

Who with unimagined kindness

Gave His only Son to save us

For the glory of His name.

Oh, what power in His passion,

Raised from death to endless reign!

We rejoice in praise

For the glory of His grace.

(Chorus 2)

Hallelujah! to Your name be all the glory!

Hallelujah! to Your name be all praise!

Hallelujah! to Your name be all the glory!

Hallelujah! to Your name be all praise!

Sovereign Ruler of the Skies

Verse 1

Sovereign Ruler of the skies,

Ever gracious, ever wise;

All my times are in Your hand,

All events at Your command.

Verse 2

His decree who formed the earth,

Fixed my first and second birth;

Now my life to Him I owe.

Where He leads me I will go.

(Chorus)

Ever faithful, ever true,

Keep my heart to only You.

Since I cannot part from Thee,

Sovereign Ruler ever be.

Verse 3

Plagues and deaths around me fly;

Till He bids, I cannot die.

Not a single shaft can hit

Till the God of love thinks fit.

Verse 4

Times the tempter’s power to prove

Times to taste a Savior’s love:

All must come, and last and end,

As shall please my heav’nly Friend.

(Repeat Chorus)

Verse 5

He that formed me in the womb,

He shall guide me to the tomb.

All my times shall ever be

Ordered by His wise decree.

(Repeat Chorus)

Verse 6

Thee, at all times, will I bless;

Having Thee, I all possess.

Since I cannot part from Thee,

Sovereign Ruler ever be.

Our God Will Go Before Us

Verse 1

Our God will go before us

And guide us by His presence.

What confidence this promise is:

We will never walk alone.

Verse 2

Through unknown paths, through shadows,

Our hearts fear not tomorrow.

For every step, His faithfulness

Is the truth that lights our way.

(Chorus)

Our God will go before us;

The Lord of hosts is with us.

Oh, praise the One who leads us on,

For His grace will bring us home.

Verse 3

Though evil forms against us,

All heaven will defend us.

The gates of hell shall not prevail,

For the battle is the Lord’s.

(Repeat Chorus)

Verse 4

Now send us with your presence

And lead us on to heaven,

Where songs of sorrow strain no more

And our every breath is praise.

Oh, let our every breath be praise.

(Repeat Chorus)
