"Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness." —Psalm 29:2The matter of worship absolutely dominates the Scripture! If the glory of God is the end of all creation, then the creatures' worship in response to the Creator is the anthem of that end. While your salvation in Christ is conditioned on Him, your worship is conditioned on you. It is not enough to hear and agree with God’s word, His truth demands a response. That response should be expressed by the totality of your life. Worship should be your life, a constant response to the worth of God. It is transforming everything you do into a statement of the value and worth of God to you. Worship is contemplative and expressive, it is silent and it is loud, it is private and it is public, it is invisible and it is quite visible, it is terrifying and it is peaceful, it is a statement of fear and of love, it is lamenting and it is rejoicing, it is bowing low and looking high, it is offering nothing and offering everything. This study aims at challenging us to ensure our worship is in accord with God's will, emphasizing that worship is our response to His awesome greatness that seeks to honor and please Him. |
