Beware of Being Unsatisfied

In the context of the undiminished preeminence and total sufficiency of Jesus Christ, for both spiritual life and growth, Paul urges his readers to beware of being unsatisfied—that is, unsatisfied in Christ. The fullness of Christ is placed over and against the emptiness of the philosophies of man. Jesus is no less than God in the entire fullness of deity, therefore all that we could ever need to be complete, full, and satisfied is in Christ and Christ alone. The point is clear: Beware, because being unsatisfied leads to destructive and deceiving idolatries. This is a message that calls Christians to be renewed in the all-satisfying glory of Christ.
